The Downtown Little Rock Partnership (DLRP) has named Kyle Leyenberger as its next Executive Director. Leyenberger steps into the role after serving as Deputy Director and previously leading the organization’s marketing and communications strategy.

Gabe Holmstrom, who has served as executive director, will continue supporting the organization in his new role as the principal of Capitol + Main.

“I love downtown, I love this organization, and there’s still so much work to be done,” Holmstrom said. “We have a talented team in place who understand the mission, and now, it’s time to pass the torch. I can’t wait to see what Kyle does from the captain’s chair.”

“The Downtown Little Rock Partnership is excited to have a well-qualified leader ready to step up to a new role,” said DLRP Board President David Sargent. “Kyle has been an integral part of DLRP’s growth and success, and he’s well versed in our mission to make the heart of our city a clean, safe and vibrant place.”

Leyenberger joined DLRP in 2022 as Director of Marketing and Communications and within a couple of years, was promoted to Deputy Director. He guided public engagement during the Downtown Master Plan process and led efforts to elevate local businesses and increase event participation. He has completed the prestigious International Downtown Association Emerging Leader Fellowship Program, further equipping him with national best practices in place management and urban revitalization.

“Working closely with Gabe has given me a wealth of knowledge about partnership operation and goals, and I’m excited to hit the ground running,” Leyenberger said. “Our small but talented team punches well above its weight, and I’m ready to build on that momentum during this promising time for Downtown Little Rock.”

Leyenberger will continue to promote the Downtown Little Rock Master Plan and help to guide progress with the city’s implementation committee, including the development of the 30 Crossing greenspace into a flagship park.

He will also continue managing the Downtown Little Rock Ambassador program, which is now in its second year. Leyenberger plans to engage the community and key stakeholders to identify challenges and opportunities for the partnership and our city’s future.

A former broadcast journalist, Leyenberger spent seven years at nonprofits focused on advocacy at the state Capitol before joining DLRP in 2022.
