Tottenham are looking to negotiate a shock move for Savinho but Manchester City would demand significantly more than £50million for the Brazilian winger to leave.
The two clubs have discussed a potential deal, although City are not set on selling a player who featured in 48 matches during his debut campaign in England.
Savinho joined City from sister club Troyes – via a loan deal at Girona – for £31million last summer, scoring three goals and recording 10 assists in all competitions.
The 21-year-old looked bright in City’s pre-season friendly victory over Palermo on Saturday and showed glimpses of promise at the Club World Cup.
Pep Guardiola rarely stands in the way of those who want to leave and that director of football Hugo Viana has held talks with Spurs indicates the Brazil international is open to exploring his options.
Guardiola suggested at the weekend that he doesn’t expect any further incomings after City landed five new faces – including attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki from Lyon.

Cherki is one of several who can play off the right – where Savinho flourishes – with Guardiola also able to call on Phil Foden and the returning Oscar Bobb.
Bobb had been expected to take that shirt going into last season, allowing Savinho a period of acclimatisation, but the Norwegian fractured his leg and missed the majority of the campaign.
Meanwhile, Everton are continuing discussions over a loan switch for Jack Grealish, who didn’t travel with City to Italy and didn’t feature in a friendly against Preston last week either.
