Kuwait City (August 11, 2025): Kuwait said something really big! Kuwait has officially announced a visa-on-arrival facility for non-Kuwaiti residents of GCC countries.
Sheikh Fahad Al-Youssef, directive of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh, made this new rule to replace the old one from 2008, and the best part? It’s already started this Sunday!
If you live in places like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Oman, or Bahrain, you don’t need to get a visa before coming to Kuwait. You can just come and get it when you arrive!
According to the announcement published in the official gazette Kuwait Al-Youm, eligible residents can now enter Kuwait upon arrival, provided their GCC residency is valid for at least six months or more.
Important Decision Regarding Oman’s ID Card
As part of the new visa rules, Kuwait has made a helpful update for people living in Oman. Now, Omani national ID cards will be accepted as valid ID for getting a visa when you arrive in Kuwait. This change will make the entry process quicker and smoother for Omani residents planning to visit.
The Ministry of Interior explained that the goal behind these changes is to make travel more convenient for the large number of expatriates living in the region. It’s also part of Kuwait’s efforts to align with the broader Gulf vision of improving regional mobility and cooperation.
