In a tail of hallway drama, this pawrent recently moved into a new apartment building with their skittish 9-year-old fluffball. The kitty is a purrfect law abiding catizen. She’s well behaved, never scratches the furniture, and makes zero noise. However, this cat has taken to exploring the apartment hallway when it’s not busy.

The pawrent always has her cat on a leash during her hallway explorations. But, during one of these walks, the cat was sitting peacefully when a neighbor noticed her, and expressed that they were very allergic. They then very strongly said that the cat shouldn’t be in the hallway. The cat owner was caught off guard, responded politely and went back inside shortly after.

Now they’re left wondering: is it inconsiderate to continue letting the cat explore the hallway, even while following the rules? They’re not trying to stir up drama or trigger anyone’s allergies, but also don’t feel like they were doing anything wrong.

Here’s the twist. The building is pet-friendly. So while furmageddon wasn’t exactly unfolding, it’s unclear where the line between respectful and unreasonable truly lies.
