The story behind The Dentist escape room:

The local dentist, Dr Basher, hides a terrible secret.

You arrive for your appointment only to find yourself trapped!

You suddenly notice the clock ticking down with one hour to escape before he “finishes” your appointment…and you.

Explore the cosmetic surgery and use clinical reasoning to extract the roots of this dark mystery.

What did we think of The Dentist escape room?

The Dentist is actually pretty good and we really enjoyed ourselves. The room is relatively sparse, but there are plenty of good puzzles and props that kept us thinking.

At one point we were positively flying, having completed around 80% of the puzzles within the first half hour. And then we hit a wall….

One particular puzzle stumped us – and as is often the case, it was an electronic riddle. No matter how hard we tried, we simply couldn’t get the ‘answer’ right. Annoyingly, we had to get a clue to move on.

This is a non-linear room which usually adds to the complexity. However, the sparse nature of the layout actually made it easier to keep track of unused clues. Particularly as the puzzles are all ‘one and done’.

Despite the ‘horror’-themed advertising, there are no scares.  There are also a lot of red herrings that will eat into your game time if you’re not careful!

Any criticisms?

Nope, we really enjoyed ourselves. The puzzles were good fun and kept us fully engaged for the entire game.

It’s worth noting that the room gets very hot. There is a fan to keep the air moving, but as the stress mounts, so does the temperature!

Conclusion

No Escape advertise this as one of their hardest escape rooms (5 out of 5). Experienced escape room players may disagree however, especially those who have played some of the more advanced games across Europe.

This is the first No Escape room we have played and we would certainly consider doing another. Given that the other room at the Oxford Street premises, The Demon Barber, is rated 2 out of 5, we would probably have to go to one of their other locations.
