The Government of Pakistan has officially accepted the resignation of Mr. Faisal Iqbal Ratyal, who was serving as Director General (Telecom) under the Information Technology and Telecommunication Division in the MP-II Scale. According to a notification issued by the Establishment Division, the resignation takes effect from October 20, 2025.

Mr. Faisal Iqbal Ratyal has been a key figure in Pakistan’s telecommunication and IT policy circles. During his tenure, he contributed to initiatives aimed at strengthening the digital infrastructure and promoting public-private collaboration in the telecom sector. His resignation marks a notable development within the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT), which continues to play a vital role in advancing Pakistan’s Digital Transformation Vision.

The official notification, signed by Rubina Akhtar, Deputy Secretary (E-II) of the Establishment Division, stated:

“The Prime Minister is pleased to accept the resignation of Mr. Faisal Iqbal Ratyal as Director General (Telecom), MP-II Scale, Information Technology and Telecommunication Division, with effect from 20th October, 2025.”

Copies of the notification have been circulated to the Secretary to the President (PS) and the Secretary IT, MoITT, Islamabad, for necessary record and action.

The resignation comes amid ongoing government efforts to enhance Pakistan’s digital landscape through improved broadband access, AI integration, and telecom reforms. It remains to be seen who will be appointed as the new DG (Telecom), as the government continues to emphasize innovation, cybersecurity, and connectivity expansion.

A senior official in MoITT, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the ministry will “continue its mission of building a robust and inclusive digital ecosystem despite the leadership change.”
