The Arkansas Advanced Energy Association[1] (AAEA) and Arkansas Advanced Energy Foundation (AAEF) announced Tuesday (Oct. 28) they have hired Jenny Wiedower as associate director of programs.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to align with the team at AAEF, who are champions for a future with abundant, affordable and advanced energy in Arkansas,” Wiedower said.
With more than two decades of experience in the energy and environment sector, Wiedower most recently worked with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) as a physical scientist and policy advisor with a focus on workforce development and tax credits for energy efficiency homes.
Prior to her work with DOE, she worked more than 13 years with U.S. Green Building Council, rising from executive director of the South Carolina chapter to senior manager of K12 Education. She also served as director of the Navy Yard at Noisette Community Association, one of the largest sustainable redevelopment projects in the country at the time.
She has a bachelor’s degree in English from Rhodes College, and a master’s degree in environmental studies from the College of Charleston.
As associate director of programs, Wiedower will support AAEF’s work to educate Arkansans on the impacts of energy to their quality of life and livelihoods; and create opportunities for connecting quality energy jobs with skilled Arkansans. AAEF is the 501(c)3 nonprofit arm of the Arkansas Advanced Energy Association and promotes greater public understanding of advanced energy in Arkansas through research, public education programs, and economic and workforce development.
