On October 26th, 2025, X user Ben Freeman (@BenMFreeman) tweeted, “Do not vote for Zohran Mamdani,” concerning the 2025 NYC mayoral election and Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani, gaining over 6,000 likes in two days.
Later on that same day, X user Bailey Moon (@Baileymoon15) quote-tweeted Freeman, attaching a photo of herself smiling with the caption, “Too bad I did today.” Over two days, the post received over 24.7 million views and 202,000 likes.

Several X users quote-tweeted Bailey Moon’s post in the following days in late October 2025, many of which were shared by conservative pundits and anti-Mamdani voices.
For instance, on October 26th, 2025, X user @Fair_and_Biased, a “Conservative Christian blogger,” according to her bio, quote-tweeted Moon’s post with a George Orwell quote from his dystopian novel 1984[6], reading, “It was always the women, and above all the young ones, who were the most bigoted adherents of the Party, the swallowers of slogans, the amateur spies and nosers-out of unorthodoxy.” Over two days, the post received roughly 43,000 likes.

On October 27th, 2025, X user @ItIsHoeMath quote-tweeted Moon’s post, adding a long text caption, starting with, “This is it, friends. This is where I come from. These are the fires in which my disgust was forged.” The user continued, “This is not about politics. She doesn’t understand them. She doesn’t even think she knows better than you. She only knows that you can’t tell her what to do.” The post received over 44,000 likes in a day.
