Cameron Norrie ‘Pumped’ for Paris Masters Clash with World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz After Straight-Sets Win

Jannik Sinner said it “felt amazing” to lift the Vienna Open trophy after fighting back from a set down to beat Alexander Zverev 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 in a thrilling final on Sunday.

The world number two, who has now won four titles this season, battled through a tough start — and even some hamstring cramp — to claim victory in just under two and a half hours.

“It feels amazing,” Sinner said after sealing his 22nd career title. “It was such a difficult start for me. I tried to stick in there mentally, trying to play my best tennis when it counts.

“It has been such a special week. It is always the highlight of my calendar to come and play here in Vienna.”

The win extends Sinner’s incredible 21-match winning streak on indoor hard courts and adds to what has already been a stunning season — with earlier triumphs at the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and the China Open.

After losing the first set, Sinner found his rhythm in the second, hitting precise winners and breaking Zverev early to take control. The deciding set was tight until Sinner broke at 5-5, then held his nerve to close out the match as Zverev hit a backhand into the net.

Zverev, who won the Vienna title in 2021, praised Sinner after the match, saying: “For me, he is currently the best player in the world. This week, he was simply the best player in Vienna.”

Sinner’s win in Vienna continues his remarkable form heading into the final stretch of the season, proving once again why he is one of the most dominant players in world tennis right now.
