Top Passeur - Moses Simon

Galatasaray’s record-breaking €75 million move for Victor Osimhen last summer is proving to be money well spent. Any doubts about the cost of the Nigerian striker have quickly disappeared — both his performances and his impact off the pitch have brought huge returns for the Turkish champions.

Osimhen’s goals have been key to Galatasaray’s strong start to the season in both domestic and European competitions.

According to Turkish outlet Sporx, the Super Eagles star has helped the club earn around €23 million from Champions League bonuses alone — €18.8 million for qualification and another €4.2 million from wins over Liverpool and Bodo/Glimt.

Those numbers highlight just how valuable Osimhen has become, not only as a goalscorer but also as a major financial asset. Galatasaray’s record signing is already paying back his transfer fee through goals, success, and merchandise.

Fan favourite and record breaker

Osimhen’s connection with Galatasaray fans has been instant and powerful. Since joining, he has helped the team remain unbeaten in the league and push for another title.

The club has earned €5 million from their league form so far, while Osimhen’s popularity off the pitch has created an extra revenue stream. Within weeks of his arrival, fans snapped up 40,000 official Osimhen-branded shirts and masks, bringing in €8.19 million in merchandise sales.

On the pitch, the 26-year-old continues to make history. His two goals in the 3–1 win over Bodo/Glimt extended his European scoring streak to seven consecutive matches, a new club record, surpassing Burak Yılmaz’s six-game run. He also became Galatasaray’s fastest-ever Champions League scorer, finding the net in the third minute against Bodo/Glimt.

With 42 goals in 49 appearances, Osimhen has already climbed to 20th on the club’s all-time scorers list, overtaking legends like Xhevat Prekazi and Shabani Nonda. He is now also the highest-scoring Nigerian in Galatasaray’s history.

At just 26, Osimhen now stands among great names like Gheorghe Hagi, Mauro Icardi, and Bafétimbi Gomis in Galatasaray’s foreign legends list.

Charismatic, determined, and deadly in front of goal, Victor Osimhen is not only leading Galatasaray’s attack — he’s rewriting their history.
