Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has had plenty of big games, but Thursday night took things to another level. The Oklahoma City Thunder star went for a career-high 55 points in a 141-135 double-overtime win over the Indiana Pacers.

He added 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, and 2 three-pointers, carrying the Thunder through both extra periods and sealing one of the most impressive individual performances of the season so far.

The Pacers didn’t make it easy. Bennedict Mathurin followed up his strong season opener with 36 points and 11 rebounds, while Pascal Siakam posted 32 points and 15 boards. Rookie Ajay Mitchell added 26, and Aaron Wiggins chipped in 23 points and 5 threes for OKC.

The game stayed tight from start to finish, with both teams trading clutch shots late in regulation and through two overtimes before SGA’s final surge put it away.

For Gilgeous-Alexander, this night simply reinforces what many already believe he’s one of the NBA’s elite scorers and the heartbeat of a rising Thunder squad. If there were any doubts about SGA they were answered in 55 points of proof.
