The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Deputy Director[1] Muhammad Usman, who recently went missing, was the lead investigator in the high-profile Ducky Bhai gambling case, police confirmed before the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday.

During the hearing of a petition filed by his wife, Rozina Usman, Justice Muhammad Azam Khan was informed that Muhammad Usman had been investigating the online gambling network linked to YouTuber Ducky Bhai (real name Saadur Rehman) before his disappearance.

DSP Legal Sajid Cheema told the court that other investigators working on the same case had also gone missing, adding that the case was initially being handled in Lahore before being transferred to the capital.

DSP Sajid Cheema said that the SSP Investigation was directly supervising efforts to trace Muhammad Usman. He added that investigators were examining the officer’s WhatsApp data records for potential leads.

Police Trace Missing NCCIA Officer’s Wife’s Last Location

According to the DSP, data showed that Rozina Usman, who had filed the recovery petition for her husband, was last traced between Lahore and Islamabad until October 18. Her phone was later switched off, and police found her residence on Empress Road locked, with her children also unaccounted for.

Advocate Raja Rizwan Abbasi told the court that Rozina had received a threatening call warning her to withdraw the petition before she also went missing.

DSP Sajid Cheema added that CCTV footage placed Muhammad Usman’s last known location in Islamabad’s F-6 area. He said access to WhatsApp data could provide vital clues to his disappearance.

The court expressed concern over the missing NCCIA officer and his wife and directed police to ensure Usman’s recovery within a week. The hearing was adjourned until October 31.
