Qualcomm has officially unveiled its latest mid-range powerhouse, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, bringing notable performance and efficiency upgrades over its predecessor. The new chipset aims to deliver smoother gaming, faster connectivity, and improved imaging capabilities for next-generation affordable smartphones.

Built on Samsung’s[1] advanced 4nm process, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 (SM6435-AA) offers a 36% increase in CPU performance and a 59% boost in GPU speed compared to the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3. The Kryo CPU features four performance cores clocked at up to 2.4 GHz and four efficiency cores running at 1.8 GHz, ensuring a balance between power and efficiency.

Graphics get a significant lift as well, thanks to HDR gaming support and compatibility with OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenCL 2.0 FP, and Vulkan 1.1. Qualcomm has also packed in its Elite Gaming features, including Variable Rate Shading (VRS) and Game Quick Touch, to enhance gameplay response and visual fluidity.

The chipset supports up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM at 3200MHz and UFS 3.1 storage, promising faster multitasking and app loading. For display, it can handle FHD+ resolution with a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. Connectivity options are also top-tier for its class, with support for both mmWave and sub-6GHz 5G networks, along with Wi-Fi 6E.

On the imaging front, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 integrates Qualcomm’s Spectra ISP[2], capable of handling up to 200MP camera sensors and recording 2K video at 30fps. Users will also benefit from Snapdragon Sound enhancements, Bluetooth 5.4, and Quick Charge 4+ technology for faster power delivery.
