Be Pro Be Proud[1] has announced the appointment of Lily M. Cabrera, MBA, CFRE as its new chief development officer. Cabrera brings more than 15 years of leadership experience advancing large-scale philanthropic partnerships across education, health care and workforce development.

Be Pro Be Proud is a workforce development initiative started in Arkansas and now in other states that tours schools with its mobile workshop to educate about jobs in skilled professions available after high school and college.

“Lily’s expertise in building transformational relationships will expand Be Pro Be Proud’s ability to grow and strengthen partnerships nationwide,” Andrew Parker, executive director of Be Pro Be Proud, said. “Her leadership creates exciting opportunities for students, employers and communities to benefit from our mission of elevating technical careers.”

Cabrera has secured multimillion-dollar grants from national foundations, built partnerships with Fortune 100 companies and led campaigns that align organizational vision with funder priorities. She has served in senior philanthropy roles at the University of Texas at Austin and NYU School of Medicine, along with K-12 schools and nonprofit organizations dedicated to community impact.

Her experience includes major gifts, corporate and foundation relations and designing strategies that secure long-term engagement. Cabrera’s work supports Be Pro Be Proud’s commitment to creating sustainable, mission-driven partnerships that connect the next generation with high-demand, high-wage professions.

Cabrera earned a master’s degree in business administrtion with honors from Seton Hall University and a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Grant Professionals Association and the international business honor society Beta Gamma Sigma.
