American Express[1] has rolled out a new way for small-business owners to save on one of their most useful digital tools.

The issuer has added a Squarespace[2] statement credit worth up to $150 per calendar year for U.S. purchases with Squarespace on the American Express® Business Gold Card[3]. It’s now available to both new and existing cardmembers (enrollment required).

With Squarespace, Business Gold Card[4] members can build and manage professional websites — including tools for e-commerce, scheduling, invoicing and marketing — all in one place.

Since Squarespace plans[5] range from $192 to $1,668 a year, this new perk could cover about 78% of a base-level Basic annual plan, significantly offsetting the card’s $375 annual fee (see rates and fees[6]).

Enrollment in the benefit is now open, and once activated, you’ll receive up to $150 in statement credits each calendar year when you use your Business Gold Card to pay for eligible Squarespace purchases in the U.S.

Given that it’s a calendar year benefit, cardmembers can double-dip by using this year’s $150 benefit, then using another $150 after Jan. 1, netting $300 in value in one cardmember year.

Other valuable Business Gold credits

This new benefit joins two other credits to help the Business Gold[8] pay for itself (enrollment required):

  • Up to $240 back annually (up to $20 back per month) for eligible purchases at U.S. FedEx, Grubhub and office supply stores
  • Up to $155 back annually (up to $12.95 plus applicable taxes on one membership fee; Plus Up Benefits are not eligible) for a monthly Walmart+[9] membership (subject to auto-renewal)

Together, the three perks — now totaling up to $545 per year in potential credits — can easily outweigh the card’s annual fee[12] if you maximize them.

Bottom line

This new Squarespace credit makes the American Express Business Gold Card[14] more compelling for entrepreneurs and freelancers looking to build or upgrade their online presence.

Whether you’re already a cardmember or considering applying, this perk can nearly cover your website hosting costs while adding to the card’s already strong lineup of business-friendly rewards and statement credits.
