Xiaomi appears to be gearing up for an early refresh of its Turbo lineup. The Redmi Turbo 5 is reportedly on the way, arriving much sooner than expected, possibly as early as next month. This move would mark a quicker turnaround, considering the Xiaomi[1] Redmi Turbo 4 launched in early January.
Leaks suggest the Redmi Turbo 5 will feature a metal frame[2] and a refined camera island design. It’s also tipped to include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor and a larger battery than the Turbo 4’s 6,550 mAh unit. The new model could deliver a significant endurance boost, with reports hinting at either a 7,500 mAh or even a massive 9,000 mAh capacity.
The Turbo 5 is expected to run on a new MediaTek processor positioned as a “flagship mid-tier” chip. Insiders believe it could be the Dimensity 8500 Ultra, the same processor likely heading to the Oppo Reno15 Pro, Honor Power 2, and Realme Neo 8.
The phone is rumored to sport a 6.6-inch flat display with a “1.5K” resolution, paired with 100W wired charging support. Despite its big battery, the Turbo 5 might retain a slim and lightweight build, along with solid dust and water resistance.
Interestingly, Xiaomi may launch the device under a different name globally. Reports indicate that the Redmi Turbo 5 could arrive in international markets as the Poco X8 Pro, continuing Xiaomi’s trend of rebranding its mid-range powerhouses for different regions.
