Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a Rs100 billion flood relief package for victims across the province, two months after historic flooding displaced more than 4.2 million people in Punjab.

She made the announcement during a ceremony in Depalpur tehsil of Okara, where flood cards were distributed under the government’s rehabilitation program.

Addressing the event, the Punjab CM said the Rs100 billion flood relief plan fulfills the government’s promise to support affected families. “The flood victims are getting what they deserve, but they should get even more,” she stated, adding that she will not rest until every displaced person is safely back home.

Maryam noted that around 70 percent of flood victims have already been surveyed, while compensation has started even before the process is fully completed. She urged those not yet included in the list to register complaints at one of the 72 site camps set up across Punjab.

The chief minister also announced that each affected family will receive Rs50,000 in immediate aid, with the remaining amount accessible through ATM cards.

“So far, 71,000 bank accounts have been opened for flood-affected families,” she added.

Maryam reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensure transparency and swift assistance in helping flood victims rebuild their lives.
