Head coach of the Amazons of Benin Republic, Abdoulaye Ouzerou, has said his team is not afraid of facing the Super Falcons of Nigeria.

Benin Republic will play against the defending champions in the second qualifying round of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The first leg will take place at the Stade de Kégué in Lomé on Thursday, while the return leg will be held at the Moshood Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta on Tuesday, 28 October.

Ouzerou said his team will rely on their mental strength to overcome the tough challenge.

“We’re going to count on our heart, because if you’re physically and technically inferior, you have to compensate mentally. For me, mentally, they’re ready. We’re going to rely heavily on that mentality,” he said after unveiling his squad.
