Pakistan and Russia are set to enhance their media partnership through a series of new agreements aimed at improving collaboration and information exchange.

Russian Ambassador Albert P. Khorev met Information Minister Attaullah Tarar in Islamabad on Saturday to discuss various aspects of bilateral cooperation. The discussions focused on enabling state-owned media outlets of both countries to strengthen their partnership and exchange credible information.

Both sides are finalizing a cooperation agreement between Pakistan Television (PTV World) and Russia’s RT (Russian Television) to promote media partnership through content sharing and joint broadcasting initiatives. The move is expected to deepen engagement between Pakistan and Russia in media, culture, and tourism sectors.

In addition, progress on the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) and Russia’s Sputnik News Agency was reviewed. The MoU aims to expand news sharing and bolster ties between the two countries’ media organizations.

The meeting also covered proposals for launching exchange programmes involving digital influencers and youth delegations to encourage cultural understanding and people-to-people connections between Pakistan and Russia.
