England showed more exciting attacking football as they comfortably beat a poor Wales team in a friendly match at Wembley.

Manager Thomas Tuchel chose to stick with the same team that won 5-0 against Serbia in September – the best result of his time in charge so far – and the players performed well again.

England started the match very quickly, scoring three goals in the first 20 minutes.

Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa scored the first goal just three minutes in, finishing a cross from Marc Guehi. Rogers had also played very well against Serbia.

His club team-mate Ollie Watkins, who was filling in for the injured captain Harry Kane, scored the second goal from close range eight minutes later.

Then Bukayo Saka made it 3-0 with a brilliant goal, curling the ball into the top corner with his left foot. That goal was his 13th for England, making him Arsenal’s top goalscorer for the national team.

In the second half, Rogers hit the post, and although Wales played a bit better after that, England were never really in danger. It was a simple and impressive win for Tuchel’s side.

Next, England will play Latvia in a World Cup qualifier in Riga on Tuesday. Wales will host Belgium in Cardiff on Monday.
